Rotary Youth Programme of Enrichment

As well as supporting young “high achievers” in New Zealand and further afield, Rotary realises there are countless youngsters whose amazing potential remains untapped.

Enter “RYPEN” – the Rotary Programme of Enrichment, aimed at our communities’ kids who’ve shown they’re ready to step up, but would benefit with a bit of guidance.

Our RYPEN camp is just that helping hand – a fun, residential weekend featuring inspiring, motivational speakers, awesome outdoor activities designed to build their self-worth and use their belief in themselves constructively in a team environment.

Who’s RYPEN for?

Aimed at teens aged 14 to 17, RYPEN is specially designed to provide crucial life skills to help teens cope in what is an increasingly competitive world.

Students have pressure to perform academically – their results are the benchmark of success. However, other skills are needed for the next stage of a student's growth, be that further education or the workplace.

RYPEN is for teens who’ve shown qualities of decency, courage, persistence, sincerity, leadership and application in everyday life, and who deserve further development and guidance.

RYPEN in action

RYPEN is all about stretching participants socially, culturally and academically. A range of activities are included to challenge the students, from motivational speakers, to anti-drug and crime avoidance, to outdoor high ropes and confidence courses, and water activities.
.
Clubs usually contribute about 80 percent of the cost, with students meeting the remainder. All applications must be made via your sponsoring Rotary Club
